Katie spent her time in Bank of Ireland working as a Credit Controller gaining invaluable experience & left this position to follow her passion in New York City. Saint Patrick and his Killashee Connection

The team here are always particularly excited for the 17th March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day due to Killashee’s strong ties to St. Patrick. Killashee derives it’s name from St. Auxillius who is said to be the nephew of St. Patrick. It is widely debated in Co. Kildare whether it was St. Patrick himself or his nephew St. Auxillius who founded the church at Killashee. Sadly the church closed in 1965, and all that remains are the ruins and the Holy Well which is dedicated to St. Patrick. Ask at our reception for a map of our grounds and take a true exploration into Ireland’s history*.

Emma's Butterfly Garden

DEBRA Ireland has opened a new butterfly garden in Killashee House, Naas, Co. Kildare.
This stunning creation of a butterfly garden was the brainchild of Emma Fogarty, Patient Ambassador with DEBRA Ireland. It was her dream to have a butterfly garden in a location where those affected by EB can go to enjoy peace and tranquility. This striking garden is complete with a fountain, butterfly houses and gazebo. This beautiful garden will be a place where all people can come to reflect and get away from the stresses they face in their everyday life. Please come and visit the next time you are passing by, dining or staying in Killashee House Hotel & Villa Spa.

Welcome to the Butterfly Garden,
Let your heart and soul float free,
Lift your face to the light and beauty,
And whisper, Let peace come to me.
Then quietly wander the pathways,
Or sit in tranquility,
In a flitter of delicate beauty,
You reveal yourself to me.
